Your Book isn’t Done by Hitting Publish

How to market your book after sharing it with the world.

First things first: congratulations! You wrote a book and that in itself is a huge accomplishment, regardless of how people react or engage with it, you can simply be proud of the fact that you shared your literary work with the world!

But writing and publishing the book is only half the work! And for some, the most challenging aspect of the book-writing journey begins now: marketing

When you’ve published your book, it implies that you’re ready for the world to read it and engage with it; so let them know! Share how proud you are of yourself, and how excited you are to have something you created be enjoyed by the rest of the world. Especially when you self-publish your book, it's you who gets to decide where and when your book is marketed; you’re in charge of posting on your social platforms, sharing on your website, finding local places to showcase and sell your book.

I have already walked along the marketing path, coming upon struggles, challenges, and rejection, as well as meeting people who are generous and willing to help. A lot of my ideas and things I did came from suggestions from family and friends, from many internet searches, and from spending many hours in a creative, but often frustrated…
