The World is on Fire; I Must Change My Ways
By now almost everyone with internet has heard about the fires in the Amazon. Not everyone has heard that it’s mostly caused by humans.
That’s right. The world is burning because of us.
A big reason that fires started in the Amazon Rainforest was to clear land for cattle. Cattle which is then used to produce your dairy goods, as well as your meat.
Now I’m not asking you to stop eating meat completely, nor dairy (even though that would be great). But a good place to start is to consume less. If everyone in the world were to consume a little bit less meat and dairy, the world could be a much healthier planet.
The same goes for oceans. We are polluting the oceans with many things, of which one of the main polluters is plastic. Which ends up inside of fish. The fish of which we are eating too many. We are overfishing.
We need to change our mindset.
When events like this happen, where there is a grave, international disaster, many people will share photos on social media to raise awareness. But how many choose to actively make a difference?
