Hi Cherie, I've had this piece in my "save" box and finally got around to it at a time when i'm writing my own essays. I just want to say that this is one of the most brilliant pieces I've read about writing something personal (essay or blog) and I almost feel as if I was drinking a cup of coffee and talking about this with you. I love it, thank you for writing this! I hope personal essays still aren't dead - but then, I think as long as we let ourselves shine through, and we are alive, our writing is too.
