COVID Changed My Life
Time with myself to create a “new me”.*
The past nine months haven’t been easy for many people, but I’m not here to tell you about that which you already know. Somehow amidst this strange period there has been the pressure to create, the pressure to get fit, and even the pressure to catch up on sleep and relax. But all this pressure on how we should manage our lives during the pandemic seems no different from the pressure we feel in our “regular” day-to-day. In life before COVID, it was always about doing everything all at once and being successful in it, except maybe sleep, somehow the lack of that was socially appropriate (?!). And so instead of seeing COVID as yet another forced pressure moment in time, I’m trying to look at it as an opportunity to have a beautiful shift in mindset and in my outlook on life.
Before COVID, many people were living in a routine, a constant grind that seemed to work, mainly because there wasn’t too much time to think about things, it was just going from one to the next. Now during the pandemic, people have time to think and feel and exist in a different way than before. We’re unable to move in the same way as our previous routine, and have been forced to find new ways to fill our days. And while this for sure hasn’t been positive for everyone, nor easy, it seems that it has also created the opportunity for others to…
